Edie was born and raised in the suburbs of
Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Michigan Christian College (now Rochester College) with an A.A. in 1984. She transferred to Harding, where she graduated in 1986 with a degree in Elementary Education. While at Harding she went on a mission trip to Argentina. On that trip she met her husband, Bruce, who was a teacher at Abilene Christian University at the time. They married July 26, 1986. Bruce is currently a band director in the Amarillo ISD. They have three wonderful children, Sam, Andy and Larae.
Edie came on staff in August, 2004. She had formerly been on staff with the University Church of Christ in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and with the Belton Church of Christ in Belton, Texas. It was while a member at the Belton congregation, where she served part-time for 7 years that she was called in to children’s ministry. Edie enjoys working with children (she’s oversees birth through 5th grade) and those that minister to children.
